snow sounds
tonight i bundled up in dungarees, snow pants, a t-shirt, a sweater, a fleece, a parka, a six-foot scarf, gloves, a hat, and storm chaser boots from l.l. bean for a wintery walk with my bluetick coonhound, hugo.
we walked half a mile through the shoveled channels of our neighborhood to the middle school where hugo has a permanent permission slip to run, dart, play and generally enjoy himself...

during a weekend visit last fall with my mom, niece abby and nephew luke, we must have taken a hundred photos and literally hours of video.
after sunday pancakes in our sunny dining room, the kids spied the abandoned rope swings on our grand old maple out front. this led to all sorts of thrilling experiments in flight.
